GENERAL INFORMATION
This traditional duck hunting lodge, is located in Buenos Aires province, Duck hunting is the main activity in this area and our country is, without a doubt, a great choice particularly duck hunting. Reserves in Buenos Aires province are a permanent habitat for the different duck species of Argentina, such as: White-faced Whistling-duck, Yellow-billed Pintail, Speckled Teal, Red Shoveler, Cinnamon Teal, White-cheeked Pintail, Silver Teal, Rosy-billed Pochard, Brazilian Duck, Ringed Teal, Black-headed duck, etc. The unique grounds, the water wealth, lagoons and marshes, turn this area into a particularly attractive habitat for the variety of aquatic animal species.

For the duck hunting, that takes part in the morning or in the afternoon; local hunters are placed individually or in pairs in different areas previously selected by the head guide. Every hunter is accompanied by a bird boy, to the hunting place in 4x4 light trucks. Hunters may be shooting by a lagoon side from blinds located in the water. Every spot will have decoys set up and every hunter will be assisted by a bird boy whose job is to make sure the hunter's needs are catered for. Bird-boys will use typical calls.

The dove shooting, takes part usually during the afternoon, and in this area you will have the chance to experienced the famous Argentina high volume dove shooting. Millions of birds roost in this area, and is considered one of the most important in the province.

In addition to the duck hunt and the dove shooting, Perdiz hunt is the other option to complete your mix bag hunt. Done over dogs, Perdiz hunt is very similar to the Quail hunt.

ACCOMMODATIONS
The lodge is located in a traditional estancia only 3-hour drive from the International Airport of Buenos Aires city, close to Bolivar town. San Juan lodge has all the necessary services to accommodate 10 guest. Five double rooms, all en-suite with private bath, a very comfortable dining room, a living room, with satellite TV and music, and a swimming pool placed in a dreamed garden.

PACKAGE
The recommended package is 5 hunting days / 5 nights. Includes full board accommodation, and well qualified hunting guides with a wide knowledge of the area.

In San Juan Lodge the activity starts early in the morning. Breakfast is served at 5.00 am consisting of coffee, toasts, jams, bacon and eggs, fruits, etc. Morning activity, mainly duck hunt or perdiz goes on until 10.00 am, when you go back to the ranch to have lunch: a starter, a main course and dessert, served with wine, beer, fizzy drinks or mineral water.
Then, you can rest or even take a short nap. After this, you can go out dove shooting or perdiz hunt. Before dinner you may try a wide variety of cheese, ham, olives and drinks; dinner consists of three courses (starter, a main course and dessert).

HOW TO GET THERE
San Juan Lodge is located at 200 miles from Buenos Aires. It is accessible by van. Private flights can be arranged.

EQUIPMENT & GEAR
From May till August: The weather is cold during the morning/evening and little warm during the day. For this time of the year, in Argentina is fall / winter. Your are going to wade during the hunt. Clothes: Boot-foot hunting waders, hunting jacket, shooting gloves for low temperatures (neoprene), leather gloves, cap (all the mention items, requires camo), Blaze hunting shirt or jacket for Perdiz Hunting, Lightweight boots for perdiz and doveshooting, a polar sweatshirt or warm jacket (the temperature decreases at night). Other equipment: polarized sunglasses, insect repellent, sunblock SPF 40 or higher, hunting trousers, shirts and vest, set of underwear, good comfortable socks, an extra pair of sandals or sneakers.
